Helen's Asian Kitchen 9 rice paddle is stronger than wood and will not swell, split, or absorb moisture. This burnished bamboo spoon is wide and flat, ideal for scooping rice and patting it into mounds for serving or flat for sushi rolling. Safe for use on non-stick surfaces or in high-heat. The bamboo is treated through a special oven-roasting process which caramelizes the sugar in the bamboo, resulting in its beautiful honey color. Bamboo is one of the most renewable resources known. It is more durable and 16% harder than maple, and a third lighter in weight than oak. Dishwasher safe.
