Bamboo Wood Oil January 31, 2010 C. Sawdy (Endicott, NY) This was purchased along with the bamboo pizza peel as a gift for a friend. If you want to keep your peel (or other bamboo items) looking as beautiful as they do new, this is a necessary product.
A necessary item for bamboo cutting boards January 28, 2010 D. P. Taylor (East Coast, USA) I like this oil a lot--low odor, absorbs into wood quickly, and extra wipes off easily. I notice the price has gone up 20% since I bought it so I am going to look for a less expensive option in the future since I am supposed to keep my bamboo boards well "nourished" with this stuff.
Works Great November 24, 2009 Tecdirector (North Carolina) The shipment was fast and the product works great. Give it a good 24 hours to soak in and then wipe down. It really helps the cutting board. And the price was very fair. I will buy it again.
Cheap and it works September 15, 2009 Allison M. Perkel (Boston) Cutting boards need oil in order to remain in tip top shape. In fact, really good chopping blocks need oil to prevent them from cracking. Spending a lot of money on a cutting board, you really need to make sure you keep the board oiled up and happy.
However oil shouldn't cost a lot. So forget the fancy cutting board oils that go for 4-10x more than this - this stuff works just as well and is likely the same oil only in cheaper packaging. I'm really ok with that.
The oil goes in well and gives the cutting board a nice sheen. The wood soaks this up (so it doesn't soak up other stuff!) and it keeps my board in great shape. Now pretty much all oils will do that so again, why pay more?
It's oil September 12, 2009 R. Joyner Not much to say, it's oil that works. You can get cheaper if you buy larger bottles of mineral oil that are packaged as a laxative, but the small bottle avoids the awkward questions.
